Lady Aini Tour La Daga is the Empress of Karisen, and Hyacinth's wife. She's also the daughter of Duke Daga.
Appearance[]
Aini has green eyes and long bright orange hair tied in an updo with a long fringe. When she visits Latil, she wears a dark blue dress over light blue petticoats, and a white cravat. According to Latil, her hands are soft. She has a radiant smile, which caused Latil to think to herself how Hyacinth could not fall in love with her after living with her for five years.
Personality[]
Aini is beloved by the people of Karisen for her polite and gentle exterior. However, she is actually more cunning than she appears, as she plants spies to keep watch on Hyacinth, which is how she is able to know he had a conversation with Latil. She is somewhat vengeful, putting aside her dignity to marry Hyacinth so that she can separate him from Latil, thereby punishing him for planning to divorce her. She also has a sense of humor, gifting Latil "her best friend" which turns out to be a bottle of wine.
Story[]
Ascension Arc[]
When Latil overhears the Karisen delegation, she finds out that Hyacinth is marrying Aini rather than her. When she goes to Karisen as part of the Tarium wedding delegation, she finds out that Duke Daga had lent aid to Hyacinth during the Karisen Rebellion, on the condition that he make his only daughter, Aini, his empress when he ascended to the throne. Hyacinth agreed to this offer, but revealed to Latil that he planned on divorcing Aini in five years.
That night, Aini goes to visit Latil in her chambers. She reveals to Latil that she had heard about her conversation with Hyacinth. She acknowledges that Latil did not seem like she wanted to go along with Hyacinth's plan. She then states that she did not plan on divorcing Hyacinth. At first, she had considered backing out of the marriage to preserve some self-respect, but then decided that she would rather hurt him by preventing him from getting back with Latil. Latil apologises that Aini had to hear him say those things, but Aini says that she was grateful for Latil to console her when she was likely angry herself. Before she leaves, she gifts Latil a bottle of wine, saying that it is "her best friend who keeps [her] sorrows at bay".

Hyacinth[]
Aini and Hyacinth are stuck in a loveless marriage. Their marriage was arranged out of necessity, as Hyacinth needed Duke Daga's forces to win the throne, while Duke Daga wanted to control the throne. Aini resents Hyacinth for wanting to divorce her, while Hyacinth distrusts Aini because he knows Duke Daga and her have planted spies to watch him. To exacerbate this, Hyacinth is still in love with Latil.
Latil[]
Aini and Latil seemingly have mutual respect to each other, despite Latil being Hyacinth's ex-lover. Aini does not hate Latil for being the subject of Hyacinth's affections, directing her hatred at Hyacinth instead for not taking responsibility for their marriage. She even gifts her a bottle of wine as a gift.
